It is very important to take safety precautions when using electricity or any electrical appliances. Electrical appliance safety should always come first while some basic rules should be put in mind. The basic guidelines regarding electrical appliance safety provided below will help you while working with electricity.

Electrical Appliance Safety

Water

Maintain a strategic distance from water at all times when working with electricity. Never touch or take a stab at repairing any electrical appliance or circuits with wet hands. It expands the conductivity of electric current.

Connectors

Avoid risking the use of any electrical appliance with fragile cords or broken plugs.

Central Switch

Any time you are working on any electricity socket or box in your house, always switch of the central box. It is very good idea to stick a warning sign to caution others not to switch it on by accident.

Insulators

Make sure you are using non-conductors while working on electricity or repairing an electrical appliance.
