Live current in electrical appliance safety
Never try fixing up appliance that have electric current. Always check that it has no current first by using a tester. When an electric tester touches a live or hot wire, the bulb inside the tester lights up. Hence, it is showing that an electrical current is present in the respective wire. Check all the cables and the outer metallic covering of the service panel. Also check any other hanging cables with an electrical tester.
Never try to use an aluminium or steel ladder if you are working on any electric circuit at height in your home. An electrical surge will connect you and the whole electric current will flow through your body. Make use of a bamboo, wooden or a fiberglass ladder instead.
Always put your safety first while soldering your circuit boards. Wear safety goggles and keep yourself away from the fumes. Keep the soldering iron in its stand when not in use; it can get extremely hot and can easily cause burns.
It make our life easier having an handy man in the household, but, safety comes first. Finally, we should not use life wires to try out new experiments. This might cause shock hazard and might result in life loss.
